WHEN: May 19, 2010, 7:00 PM, come early to sign in
WHERE: Beginning at the Rio Grande/Alameda open space parking area, the ride goes east along the Paseo del Norte trail to the North Diversion Channel, up to Alameda, then heads west back to the starting point.
The ride is FREE. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of insurance ($1.50 per person) and future Ghost Bike installations. Helmets required, lights recommended.
ABOUT: The Ride of Silence is a silent, slow-paced bike ride that takes place in hundreds of locations worldwide to honor those who have been injured or killed while riding on public roadways. The ride also raises awareness and reminds everyone to share the road. It will begin in North America and roll across the globe.
There are no sponsors, t-shirts, or registration fees. Participants are simply asked not to exceed 12 mph and to remain silent during the ride. Learn more at rideofsilence.org.
